Not official results. Binchika is a citizen transparency layer. Only INEC declares election results in Nigeria.
Binchika

Volunteer verifiers · unpaid · anonymous by default

Check the count, not the candidate.

Verifiers review citizen photos of polling-unit result sheets, confirm what the machine read, and escalate mismatches with INEC's IReV uploads. You don't need a party. You need patience and fairness.

Three roles

Unlimited

Citizen monitors

Anyone at a polling unit. Photograph the posted result sheet (Form EC8A) and send it in. You stay independent, you need no account, and you can flag any mistake we make.

111

State Zone Verifiers (SZV)

Three for each state and three for the FCT, aligned to senatorial districts. They confirm machine readings, settle conflicting reports and decide when a unit reaches consensus.

16

Regional Verifiers (NRV)

Two per region across eight regions (draft). They oversee consensus among the SZVs, review escalations, and sign off discrepancy flags before they are published.

Role names are working titles and may change as Binchika expands to other African countries.

Proposed NRV regions · draft

Eight regions covering all 37.

These regions follow geography and travel routes, not politics. Once INEC's polling-unit list is loaded, we will rebalance them so each region carries a similar number of polling units.

    Screening self-check · private

    Would you qualify?

These are the screening questions we will use, published in advance so the rules are the same for everyone. Your answers never leave this page. Applications are not open yet.

    1. Do you expect payment or any other compensation for verifying?
    2. Are you currently a member, official, candidate, polling agent or employee of any political party or campaign?
    3. In the last four years, have you held party office or stood as a candidate?
    4. Will you work for INEC, or as an election official, in the 2027 elections?
    5. Are you 18 or older?
    6. Can you be available on 16 January and 6 February 2027, and for the 72 hours after each?
    7. Would you flag a mismatch even if it hurt a party you like?

    How selection will work

Fair, published, and on a timetable.

    1. Application window opens. Date to be announced here and on our channels.
    2. Deadline. Late applications are never reviewed, with no exceptions.
    3. Screening. The same published questions apply to everyone. A bias filter compares answers and the spread of applicants across regions. The scoring code will be open source.
    4. Announcement. Selected people receive a one-time secure code.
    5. 24 hours to accept. Use the code to create an anonymous account. Unused places go to the next eligible applicant.
    6. Training. Short videos and guides on duties, privacy, and how to flag issues.
Your safety comes first. Verifiers are anonymous by default. You can upload an avatar if you want one, but never a photo of yourself. Binchika will never ask for your voter card number, BVN or NIN.
